AUWO is a member of the World Without Orphans.
The genesis of Alliance for a Uganda Without Orphans began with one local church responding to God’s call to defend the cause of the fatherless. Having run out of solutions for an ever increasing budget from orphanage bills, His Embrace home run by the Sign of the Dove had a divinely set encounter with Home for Good Foundation director….
He shared the biblical approach to orphan care which sparked off a heavenly fire of families responding to welcome these orphans through local adoptions. These Christians from one local church, responding in obedience to God’s design for every child to belong to a family greatly relieved the church administration of the orphanage challenges. Home for Good Foundation later recommended for Jodi Tucker(Orphan Sunday Director for CAFO) to visit this local church in Uganda.
In 2013 Jodi Tucker on an international adoption mission to Uganda met with Pr. Daniel Kaggwa of the Sign of the Dove Church and she shared about the Global networks of Orphan care workers under Christian Alliance for Orphans and World Without Orphans Initiative. She extended an invitation to Pastor Daniel who then travelled to Nashville to attend the CAFO Summit. It was out of this experience of learning, networking and vision casting that Pr. Daniel returned to Uganda and mobilized pastors to cast the vision.
In 2014 Ruslan Maliuta, President Ukraine Without Orphans and International Facilitator for World Without Orphans visited Uganda and conducted a vision casting to Pastors’ fraternities for a vision of Africa Without Orphans. His visit accelerated efforts to launch a local movement among pastors whose hearts were already sold out to serve fatherless and vulnerable children.
On 29th to 30th May 2014 David Hennessey Director for Global Movements with CAFO visited Uganda and trained Church, NGO, local and central leaders further on how the local movement could best establish sustainable best practices to realize a Uganda Without Orphans.
How can we ensure that every child in Uganda has a loving family?
One church caring for one child will change a community.
